About cork and its natural nuances

Cork is a natural, living material, whose behavior is comparable to that of wood.

Once stabilized, tinted and varnished, it nevertheless remains sensitive to very slight variations in appearance over time or in light.

Our panels are made from assembled and molded natural cork. This rich material can lead to subtle differences in reaction when the color and varnish are applied: some areas may appear slightly more matte, deeper, or more nuanced than others. The color and protection are present across the entire surface, but their appearance may vary slightly depending on the natural structure of the cork or the presence of micro-textures.

These variations are normal, controlled, and an integral part of the material. They are neither a defect nor an alteration of the finish, and have no impact on the durability or quality of the product. Depending on the color chosen, they may be more or less noticeable.

Choosing cork means choosing an authentic, warm, and durable material whose unique qualities bring depth and character to surfaces. Each piece is therefore unique, with the guarantee of a consistent, stable finish designed to last.

Stains should be removed as quickly as possible to avoid any reaction between the staining agent and the product. Time is particularly important when removing substances containing dyes or solvents such as ballpoint pen ink, nail polish, lipstick, oil-based hair dyes, paint, lacquer or enamel, and certain foods.

Precautions

Excessive soiling such as chewing gum, asphalt, crayon, paint, nail polish or tar must be carefully scraped off before any further cleaning attempts.

Cleaning

Normal cleaning of the product should be carried out using a soft, dry, lint-free cloth or a dry sponge. If the product is stained and requires more thorough cleaning, rinse it well with clean, clear water, changing the water frequently to ensure it remains clean and clear. After cleaning an area, be sure to dry it with an absorbent cloth so you can inspect it and ensure it is completely clean.

NEVER USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS AND DO NOT MIX CLEANING AGENTS, AS SEVERE REACTIONS COULD OCCUR AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. FOLLOW ALL PRECAUTIONS INDICATED ON THE LABEL WHEN USING
CLEANING PRODUCTS.

To clean deeply embossed grains, you can vacuum with a clean brush.

Your newly installed VOLTA collection products are made from natural cork granules and are therefore susceptible to change in the event of excessive moisture or unsuitable environmental conditions. Immediately remove any standing or trapped water and maintain an indoor relative humidity level of 35 to 55% year-round.
